Unable to connect to network printer

Printouts are not coming from Windows Xp Sp1 pc which is connected to Windows
2000 Professional Sp4 PC.When I try to connect win2k pc through network it is
asking for User Name and Password. I have already logedin in XP pc with a
domain user who is the member of admin group of Win2K Pc
 
What's the make / model of your printer?

There are so many that just cannot be used in this way, in particular those
from HP.
