Unable to connect to ADSL

I use a modem router.
At the begining it can connect to internet by ADSL. Then computer shutdown.
When the computer on again, it can not access to internet.
when I type the address of the router, error message "could not find search
page"

Try few times it can connect to internet again. But sometimes it can not.
Hardware problem or Windows XP problem ?

Does the modem/router have some kind of "keep-alive" setting?
