unable to connect to a hidden share via the net

Mark M.

Hi all:

I have a small (4 PC) home network, I have 2 WinXP's (one
is a XP Pro) one ME and one Windows2000. I have no
problem accessing the ($) shares on the Win2000, but I can
not access the ($) share on the other XP, I can get to the
log in for the share, however when I enter the log-in name
and password it will not work. when I click on finished
it afain asks me for my log-in name and password again.
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue. I am admin on
all machines.

Thanks
Mark

Is the problematic machine XP Home? It won't have the default $ shares.

I have XP Pro on one PC and XP Home on the other. I am
trying to acces from the XP Pro to the XP Home. I have
gone to the XP Home and checked the properties of the HD's
in question, and both drives show that they are
administratively shared (both showing the & after the
share name.
