Make sure Remote Desktop is enabled and you have configured any installed
software firewall to pass TCP Port 3389 (Remote Desktop) traffic. Otherwise
see the troubleshooting section for help...

I tried editing the registry remotly and made sure terminal server service
was runnig but nothing worked so far

Are you running any worm protection like NAV or OneCare Live? Did you check
to see if a software firewall is running on that PC? Also some folks report
that a Cisco VPN client may block incoming Remote Desktop requests.

The workstations have McAfee Enterprise 8.0i and Windows Defender. SP2
firewall is in place with the RDP protocol allowed for our central
office subnets and local subnet. During testing, we have disabled all
three. I have also tried connecting from workstation at the central
site that I moved outside the ISA firewall to ensure that wasn't
interfering.
I can connect to the machine, though, so basic connectivity issues are
not involved. The problem appears when trying to logon.
Testing yesterday seems to confirm that Autologon is at the root of the
problem; if it is turned off, the problem goes away. The stickler, of
course, is that I don't have the problem locally!
I am going to try Remoe Assistance today. This would be less useful
for troubleshooting, as it requires a remote presence, but....
