Unable to close ie6 windows

I have Windows XP home edition, SP1 and ie6.0 with SP1
installed. I am unable to close internet explorer windows
unless I go to windows task manager. Any ideas or
suggestions will be helpful.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
