unable to boot up XP Home

Hi,

problem: unable to boot up, i can't boot up with the boot cd as well

on C drive i have Windows XP Home installed.When i try to start up It
says the system registry might be damaged or corupted....and that the
Active Control Set Key is missing ...how can i restore it? please help

"Are you getting an error message? If so, what is it? Can you get into Safe
Mode (press F8 as the computer is starting). If no to the latter, do a
Repair Install by booting with the CD then choosing "Install" and then after
XP finds your current installation, "Repair"."
