unable to boot from cd-rom

Marc

I'm trying to boot from cd-rom after setting my first bootable device as my
cd-rom via the bios...but for some reason the hard drive continues to boot
up?....my
drive is like 3rd on the list.

I have an original dvd drive, and an addtional cd rw drive on board.
The platform is a Dell Dimension.

what am i doing wrong?

thanks

Are you sure you're using a bootable CD?
Depending on the version of the Dell BIOS, you may see a "Boot Order" option
(F12?) on the BIOS startup screen.

I think that what you're doing wrong is putting the cd in the wrong
drive. Try putting it in the other drive and see if that fixes things.

I totally missed that there were two drives. <hits head>

Heh heh. I can't tell you how many times I've guessed at which drive is
the right one to boot from and how many times I've guessed wrong! It's
The Law: whichever one I choose, it will be the other one. :-0
