Unable to backup

I'm running Windows 2000 Professional. I have two
problems. Like Sheldon, (earlier posted question) the tape
drive won't do the scheduled backup, never has. I can
manually do it and it works fine. I have recently
purchased an external Western Digital 111GB hard drive.
(My tape drive could no longer back up my hard drive due
to the size) I thought the hard drive would be an easy
way to back up. I currently am using about 25GB on my
40GB hard drive. I tried drag and dropping the files into
the external hard drive, but it would always stop at some
file (various files and various types) which would stop
the whole process. I then decided to try the windows
backup. This worked great until it hit about 4GB and
would stop and tell me the backup media was full. I
checked and still had over 100GB left on the external hard
drive. It always stopped just over 4 GB. Any ideas????

4gig is the limit of FAT32

You need to use NTFS for files larger than 4gig

The CONVERT command does that for you... enter CONVERT /?
to see a list of options
