Unable to attach to networked computer to backup

We have a network based on Windows Server 2000 that acts as a domain server. A tape backup runs off of one of the networked computers to back up the local drives of all of the other networked computers. There are a couple of computers where when I choose the computer to backup I receive an error message: Backup Error "unable to attach to server \\ [name of computer]". The computer with the error message is fully mapped to the network and has full access to the shared files on our domain

Any ideas would be much appreciated as I am not an IT person! Thank you.

It depends on the account under which you run the backup job. If it runs
under the System account then the backup job will not get access to any
mapped resources.

.
Make sure the account used to access the other networked
computers is allowed full access to all shares. Other
question: has this ever worked? did it just now stop
working?

We moved offices and therefore changed domains. It worked at the old office and the account can attach to all of the other computures, just not two of them. I will check that the account has full access to those computers though. Thank you for the suggestion
