unable to acess add/remove programmes

For some time now I have been unable to acess add/remove programmes.

Is there any other way to delete unused programmes,and does anyone know the
reason I cannot acess this facility?

I am an administrator account and everything else seems to be running well.

Another method that is possible is to go to the folder the progam is
installed in and look for a file called uninstall or unwise. Double-clicking
it should start the uninstall routine.
