Unable to access user accounts

My daughter has done something to our computer and now we cannot access it on
our home network. There is a problem with the user accounts. I am unable to
access the folder where they reside in Control Panel. The folder opens but
there is nothing there to change. I have tried booting up in Safe mode and
logging on as Administrator but the user accounts folder remains resolutely
blank.
She wants to transfer all her music over to a new computer but we cannot get
the computer recognised by the network. Her computer can see the rest of the
network but the network cannot see her computer as we do not have
permissions.
She does not have a CD writer on her computer and various leads have failed
to solve the problem

Any ideas please before I completely lose my cool and throw the damn thing
out of a window.
