Greetings all,
I have a number of problems that cropped up in my Windows 2000 Pro system.
It all started when I changed motherboards. After the change the hardware was all found okay, and mostly everything is working okay,
but I have these two problems that I still need to fix:
1) Unable to access Office Update (actually, Windows Update was not working at first, but I managed to perform a security
change (Trusted Sites) that made it work – but you know, I’m not so sure I got to the root cause of the problem. – I feel that what
I did was just a “work around” because that same “Trusted Sites” fix did not work for Office Update.
2) Unable to Activate Microsoft Reader
Somehow I feel that all of these problems are related. I have tried many of the (routine?) fixes that I found on the Internet, and
so far no suggestion has worked. (Well except for getting Windows Update to work again.)
Is there anyone (a Windows 2000 Guru) out there that would be willing to conduct a dialog with me (via email) in order to help me
get these problems fixed? You know, like one email a day – trying this and trying that until I get the problems fixed. Or, maybe if
you wish, we could even do a little voice chat using Microsoft Messenger.
Thanks all,
