Unable to access known URL

In brief, my laptop with Internet Explorer 6.0 installed
will not return the Google homepage when www.google.com
is entered. At the same time, my desktop will give the
expected results. Both are on a shared wireless network
that uses cable for internet access.

I believe this condition is the result of some recent XP
updates that I rather blindly applied to my laptop. I
further presume that there are other URL's that I will
not be able to access though I have not yet identified
them.

You may have the Trojan.Qhosts see link at Sarc below and read near bottom about your

I have a computer at home, I can access www.Aflac.com
however my new computer at work cannot!! I work for
AFLAC they have no idea why? I too blindly applied
updates. LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIND ANYTHING OUT I WILL DO
THE SAME> I HAVE POSTED ON A NUMBER OF SITES.
