Computer had partitions c, d, e, and f. Instead of using Repair, the user
reinstalled, and reformated, the C drive. All partitons are NTFS

In Windows Explorer the various folders on the d, e and f drives show up
correctly. However quite a few folders on these drives give a "access
denied" type of respnose when clicked on.

Obviously there is a lot of user data files contained in these inaccessable
folders

Is there some way to have XP scan the higher partitions so all folders
become active???

Can you go in as admin and under advanced in security "Take Ownership" of
the folders ?

Take Ownership of that folder. Login as Administrator from Safe mode (XP Home)
