trying to access win2000 machine from the 2003 file & print server i am able
to access but, when i am trying to connect to the file and print server from
the 2000 machine i used to get "network path not found"... FYI i am able to

When on the client if you do a
ping -a <f&p server name>
do you get the correct IP displayed ?
If so and resolution is working, then is the
firewall turned on on the F&P server, does
it allow F&P exemption scoped to IPs of
the client systems? etc.

You find the firewall in W2k3 pretty much the same way as you do
in XP. I use the network connections view and access using the
properties of a network interface, going to the advanced tab.
Also, while in the network interface properties, check to make
sure the File and Print is checked so that it is enabled.
