Unable to Acces Google and Yahoo

Hi,
All of a sudden I can't access yahoo or google, otherwise
my navigation seems to work fine for many other sites.
(Although perhaps there may be other sites I can't acess
that I haven't identified yet). I have been on NetZero for
years and after back and forth they have confirmed that it
is not an ISP problem with NZ. I have deleted all my
cookies and temporary internet files, rebooted, etc. to no
avail. What the heck happened to my IE 6 browser and how
can I fix it? Please let me know.

P.S. - For what it's worth, I get the typical "the page
cannot be displayed" page when I try and access yahoo or
google.

All I can think of is to check your hosts file.
Do you have the same problem with accessing a deeplink, like
http://www.google.com/images/logo_sm.gif
directly?

Thanks. I tried the link you suggested and I got a page
with just the google logo. Does that tell you anything? I
have tried to directly access yahoo.com/finance (and other
sublinks further within yahoo.com/finance), but was unable
to (same "the page cannot be displayed"). I did a search
for files containing "hosts" and found only hosts.sam and
lmhosts.sam (in c:/windows). I'm really stuck and out of
ideas on this (not anywhere's near as knowledgeable as the
folks on this newsgroup)and need my browser to do my job.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

google.com/advanced search directly either.

When did this happen? In the past day or so, I saw a story how some
hackers attacked several sites. Yahoo was one of them and possibly Google.
