I do not know how this icon got into "my computer" folder.

There are 4 options when rightclicking on icon
open
explore
open with ulead photo explorer
create shortcut.

also tried cpl search and killbox,
but no help either.
The computer tells me it's a non-existant file

Appreciate if anyone can help solve this problem
Thanks in advance.

Have posted this previously but with less info than this post.

Franktee,

You still haven't posted enough info!

What icon are you talking about? We can't see your machine from here!

Good luck.

Thanks for your response CB
Icon name is, "My Digital Camera".
It's underneath "Devices with removeable storage", located in "My Compuer"
area.
Looked in "Program files" and "system32", but nothing noticeable there.
Hope this is more helpful.

Ok normally to remove some icon from My computer, we need to play with
the registry entries.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace

over

here, you'll find various entries and one of them should remove that
culprit icon, however as cornedbeef007 said that you've not provided
enough info. Please tell us that what kind of icon that is and we may
be able to guide you further.

Please ensure that you back up the registry before making any changes.

The "My Digital Camera" icon is installed as part of WinXP.

What trouble is it causing you, that you feel this necessity to remove
it?

Good Luck.

Hi MG
Thanks both you and CB, for your replies
The icon is similar to the "views" icon thats in My documents section except
that it is on top of a portrait sized sheet of paper with the top right flap
folded down. This is the only discription I can give. Hope it helps.
Thanks again

I didn't know it was part of XP. That explains where it came from.
Thanks for enlightening me and also thanks to Mayank.
