disconnecting non-existent network drives

our old network was having issues mainly due to lag (trying to access
network drives from remote pcs) so we wiped the primary PC, and setup a new
network on it; However now the remaining computers on this network are still
listing the old previous network drives. I cannot "disconnect" these drives
because i recieve an error message telling me this drive is not on a network,
and there is no option to delete it or remove it at all;

when i open windows explorer, listed under my cd-rom drive are 3 drive
letters: J: , O:, and Y:

there are no drives for these letters on the network; the network these
reflect is gone.

i am hesitate to assign a new drive letter on the remaning pcs as it may
conflict with old non existing letters.

i have searched thru the registry for information to remove or disconnect
these non-existant network drives but nothing showed up.

From the command prompt type "net use X: /delete" where X is the drive
you want to disconnect. Also, drive mappings are not stored in the
registry, they're in the Nethood configuration files.
