un-making files private

After getting my computer all set up after a format and resintall of OS and
all programs, I then went and set a passworde for my administrator level
acount. When I did this, Windows XP wanted to know if I wanted to make all
of my files private so no-one but myself can open or read them. I said yes.
Now I'm finding that certain programs use some of those files, and I'm
guessing that they are malfunctioning becasue they aren't able to read those
files. How can I undo the "make files private" option?
