Un lock "Read Only"

How do I un lock read only in a Access 2000 file? I sent to workmates for
them work with it, but they could only read. The file was zipped before I
sent it. Can I prevent the file from becoming "Read Only" or can they un
lock? Probably basic knowledge, but this is my first experiance with Access.
Really grateful for any help here!

In Windows Explorer(aka My Computer), right click on the file name, and
choose Properties. Uncheck the Read Only checkbox.
