I need to start a-fresh with outlook. How do I uninstall completely. I
tried to just un-check it in the main installation box and it removed outlook
BUT when I re-installed it remembered all the options I had previously told
it.

How do I get rid of it completely so I can do a fresh installation?

thanks

You use the Mail Applet in the control panel to create a new Profile, add a
new data file, configure the accounts and test.
Uninstalling does nothing to the data file & accounts

But perhaps one should ask why or for what reason you wish to start afresh?

OK. I am desperate. I am currently using Thunderbird and have become
dissatisfied. I own Office 2003 and have decided to migrate to Outlook BUT I
have hundreds of filters setup in Thunderbird. I understand Outlook has
Rules but I am unable to see the option for setting up rules in the program.

I posted to another forum here and no one could give me an answer as to how
to be able to access rules. I even posted a picture
(http://www.box.net/shared/z5hdafqro7#1:8993505:88961943) to show that the
rules option is not even visible in my Tools tab. I was hoping that a fresh
installation might fix the problem. I have Norton anti-spam running and it
jumped in when I installed and so i thought that might have messed up the
installation?

Once I can get rules working I will make the migration even though I cannot
find a way to get my Thunderbird Filters migrated over.

I dont know what you meant to post/upload but that pic certainly isnt from
Outlook, its an offline file storage web application

Have you actually launched outlook from Start>Program Files>Microsoft
Office>Outlook 2003 ?
Or from the Outlook Icon which should be on your desktop?

You must have your focus on a mail enabled folder before the Rules and
Alerts option will show. Highlight your in-box and try it again.

I'm not sure which picture you looked at put the one that he posted was
definitely of Outlook 2003. I saw that he had the Adobe Acrobat addin and
Norton AntiSpam addin installed as well.

The Rules and Alerts option won't show if you don't have an account
configured.
Use Tools-> E-mail Accounts and verify that you have an account configured
there.

If you already have an account configured there; which type?

Ah I see now; I was using Firefox, with the no script addin, and omitted to
allow the script

I created a new profile, re-installed a mail account and that has fixed it.
Maybe I did not get the mail account installed correctly before.

Thanks for all the help/ideas. Sorry to confuse Roady, but I cannot upload
files to this forum and that was a way to make the screencap available.

Milly, the focus was on the Mail app.

Thanks again
