I have un-allocated space on a hard drive, and I can't figure out how to assign it to my c drive. I don't want to create another partition. How do I assign to my C drive?

Thanks
Mark

Windows XP requires that unalocated space. I can tell you that but I am not
sure WHY.

If you are talking about the 8 megs....
Setup leaves approximately 8 megabytes (MB) of unpartitioned space so you
can convert the drives to a dynamic volume.

If you are talking about more unallocated space, you'll need to use a third
party application.

You could use the extend command to fill up the unallocated space, but only
if you are using volumes on dynamic disks (you'd probably not be asking this
question if you were though)

I am assuming he's talking about the 8 Megs but I could be misunderstanding
the post.
But thanks for explaining WHAT the 8 megs is for.

Suppose I don't EVER want to convert my drives to a dynamic volume. Is
there any way to recover that 8MB?

Third party partitioning app such as BootitNG or Partition Magic is your
only choice.
