UMAX 1220P Work On XP?

I am trying to resurrect an old Umax 1220P scanner on W2000 and/or
WXP.

No drivers for W2000 or WXP that I downloaded from driverguide would
work.

Does anyone happen to be using this scanner in either scenario? If
so, where did you get the drivers?

Thanks

I had one of those scanners
and tried everything i could to get it working in XP...
but to no avail...
you might as well just get a new scanner

Oh - I do have a newer scanner. Its just that this old scanner was
sitting in the closet and I thought I might pass it on to someone.
Don't think so.

Thanks for response.

I used to own that model of scanner and ran into the same problem. Due to
Windows 2000 and XPs much improved security and robustness over earlier OSs,
using parallel ports as input connectors doesn't work hence parallel port
scanners are generally unreliable under these OSs at best and at worst they
just wont work at all. The best bet is as someone else suggested - give it
to someone using an older OS.
