The UI Design Selector in the Control Panel doesn't work,
yet the optional choices are there. Is this a Windows
feature or an add on. I have a Sony Vaio running Windows
XP Professional.

There is nothing in Windows XP's Control Panel named "UI Design Selector"
so this is something that was added on. The search results from Google
show me that this is a program included with some Sony packages.
