UDMA Not Working

Ultra DMA is no longer working on my system. When I try
to enable UDMA in my BIOS, my PC won't boot. I know that
my hard drive supports DMA, but it will not allow me to
change it via the Device Manager. Any help would be
appreciated.

Casey, if you are using a intel chipset maybe there's updated IDE drivers
at Intel's website.

I have found that if I disable some, seemingly unassociated, items in my
bios (on-board modem for instance), my drive support drops to Pio 4 mode.

The thing is, the onboard modem is not physically on my M/B. Yet, I must
leave the setting enabled - or else!

So, check the settings of your hardware in the bios.
