HI,

Im using Windows XP, having just upgraded from my Windows
98 computer. I also transferred my LG CD-RW over which
was using Adaptec direct CD which uses UDF. When I tried
to install this, XP warned me that it wasn't compatible,
so i didnt. Since transfering over I have been unable to
read CD-R/RW's and states that there is no information on
the discs.

Please help! do I need a new drive? is it simply not
compatible with XP?

Many Thanks

Adaptec sold the product rights for Easy CD Creator,
including Direct CD, to Roxio many years ago.

You need to buy a recent version of Easy CD Creator to get a
version that works properly with Windows XP. You can find
EZCD 5 Basic (an OEM version) by searching on
www.pricewatch.com It isn't too expensive, about $10-20 I
think. You can find retail boxed versions on the store
shelves for about $100m but those have many other features
you may not need.

You need to install at least version 5 and then do the
update from www.roxio.com to version 5.3.5 for it to work
properly with XP.

The UDF reader is free to download from Roxio's web site (I think??)
