Hello
Whilst running System Mechanic 6 my notebook froze & could only be
restarted by removing and then reconnecting the battery.
When Windows started my desktop had reverted to the Windows "bliss"
desktop with none of my icons & all the folders in my start menu
(clicking on Start - Programs brings up only the the names of the
programs) are empty and all my favourites have gone. The only way I
could open anything wass by using the run command, however I have now
created a shortcut to Explorer.exe so can see that all my data is still
intact. All my System Restore Points are there however none of them work.
System Mechanic, itself, has restore functions, however an analysis
suggests that the program has never been run, which is untrue & that no
registry backups have been made.
I suspect that I can create shortcuts for all my programs from explorer
but that won't get them back into the start menu.
Any ideas please?
