Typing text is deleting other text.

I have no idea what I've done! I have checked to make sure the insert button
is off! Looking at the format isn't helping. UGH!

When typing text, replying to emails, etc... in Word or Outlook, when I go
back to add something within a sentence or paragraphy my new text is deleting
my old. What could I possibly have hit/done that would make this happen? (Of
course, it's not happening when I type on this website!)

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious but you want INSERT on not off, i.e. not
set to OVR.
