Typing problem

Every time when I type (R) in any cell. It changes to a symbol "®". Unless a
space before or after the "R". Please help to remove my problem. Many thanks.
 
Change the list or settings found under Options>Spelling>AutoCorrect Options

As an extra.
In Excel 2000 those settings are at Tools>Auto Correct
