Hi Kellman
How did you create the Bar symbol that you used in the overstrike command
I've no idea! I did my xbar, ybar etc things so long ago I've forgotten. And
I just copied and pasted mine into the post. However, there is a way to find
out. Use Alt-F9 to expose the field codes. Select just the bar and do Insert
Symbol. Turns out it's ASCII 0175 or Unicode 00AF.
When I tried to type EQ \ac(X,¯) or EQ \o\ac(X,¯) in the backets, I get an
error.
Try: EQ \o \ac(y,¯)
To see the effect, put several spaces before the y, and then try \ac, \al,
\ar.
I should have made one other point earlier: when you create the x-bar EQ
field, select just the x and make it italic, if that's what you want. Then
make your AutoText from there.
By the way, AutoTexts are good for any kind of stuff you use frequently. Eg,
I have one called fratio which inserts F-Ratio with the F in italics and a
non-breaking hyphen, and one for H0 with the 0 in subscript. And one
AutoText that inserts a blank ANOVA table, formatted just as I want it,
ready for me to fill in.
You might also investigate Autocorrect as well as AutoText. Autocorrect
works immediately; AutoText works only when you invoke it.
Hope this helps.

Thanks !!! That works great and adds a whole new tool for me to use.
I have a few additonal questions.
How did you create the Bar symbol that you used in the overstrike command.
I remember seeing it somewhere in the character map, but can't seem to find
it now (since I will want to make additonal "Y" bar autotext symbols). I can
cut paste what you sent, but "enquiring minds want to know".
Second, I wish to center align the charter box in the overstrike command
(yes I know its the default, but I think that I may have reset the default).
The help menu says to use the \ac command, but I am not sure of the syntax
to apply this command. When I tried to type EQ \ac(X,¯) or EQ \o\ac(X,¯) in
the backets, I get an error.
