I recently downloaded spybot 6.0 to try an dget rid of
some spyware. Since I first ran spybot I have had to type
in the entire web address of everysite I go to. Including
(http://) This is very annoying is there any way to reset
explorer to do this automatically.

Try this:

Correct these registry entries as follows:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\URL\DefaultPrefix default="http://"

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\URL\Prefixes
"ftp"="ftp://"
"gopher"="gopher://"
"home"="http://"
"mosaic"="http://"
"www"="http://"

EDITING THE REGISTRY CAN DAMAGE YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM.
YOU SHOULD NOT EDIT THE REGISTRY UNLESS YOU ARE CERTAIN
YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS YOU ARE DOING. If you are unsure,
you may want to wait. Someone else may have another
solution.

One solution to typing http:// is to type the word of the site (say: Google)
and then hit control-enter simultaneously. This produces
http://www.google.com This only works for dot coms. If you want dot edu or
dot gov or dot anything other than dot com, this little tip doesn't work
because it puts dot com on the end. Hope this helps someone. J.
