type charachters, symbols and fractions

Is there an easy way to type fractions, cents symbols and
other symbols on the keyboard?
 
You can do this with Character Map. Start\All Programs\Accessories\System
Tools\Character Map.

For help with Character Map, open Help and Support on the Start menu, when
it opens, type Character Map in the search box and press enter and you will
find topics related to Character Map.
