Two video cards?

I currently own an ATI 9800 Pro 128 but which replaced my old 64MB
VIVO card. I miss being able to do video capture and am considering
buying a AIW VE (7500 64MB I think) with PCI bus. Does anyone know if
there are compatability issues with these two cards on the same
machine? The last time I ran multiple video cards was during the 3dfx
days with the SLI cards, but they were both add-on cards. Any
suggestions?

Why not just get a video capture card like ATI's TV Wonder line?

I run a Radeon 64 DDR VIVO (agp as primary) and an Xpert98 (pci secondary).
Note the VIVO card must be primary adapter. Also note the ATI installation
software walks all over itself during the Xpert98's install being too stupid
to detect the "other" card (e.g. Radeon) already in system.

Basically I had to

1: install radein by itself in system, get it running properly all features
2: put Xpert in system, install JUST the driver and say NO to overwriting
files.

with luck it'll all come up for you also.

Note there's still problems in use. Biggest problem is that if the system
boots with the Xpert enabled, it removes the "Displays" tab from the
Properties page and hence I can't control TV OUT. I have to boot with Xpert
disabled to retain this tab but it is odd that after system is booted I can
re-enable Xpert and retain tab so ...?

The biggest problem is the bullshit one must endure if one wants to upgrade
drivers etc. If it's the Radeon that I want to update, I have to physically
remove the Xpert and all it's crap first. If not, the Radeon's installation
routine doesn't "see" any VIVO etc. as it's apparently TOO STUPID and the
coders at ATI are TOO LAZY to have it actually look past the pci card
(Xpert) and even notice the Radeon.

It doesn't appear they plan to fix this absurdity yet they clearly know
about it.

I'm sorry, guys - I must not have explained my quandary very well. I
actually only have one video card installed, yet my system hardware info is
telling me I have two - and they are identical, except that one is listed as
secondary.

Hello,

I'm sorry, guys - I must not have explained my quandary very well. I
actually only have one video card installed, yet my system hardware info is
telling me I have two - and they are identical, except that one is listed as
secondary.

I too own a dual head videocard and I too see in my system hardware
info that there seems to be two videocards, one of them secondary.
This mention obviously is the normal thing for a dual head card, so
don't worry.;-)
Take a look at the proprietes of the secondary and you'll see that the
system has nothing to say about them. So secondary in reality only
means secondary head.Max M.
