Using Win XP Pro SP2

1. Is there any way to permanently disable the dialog box "What do you want
Windows to do?" which usually pops up whenever you connect removable data
storage? (ie. data cds or dvds; flash storage etc)

2. New M/board; clean reinstall of Win XP. Shutting down my previous system
resulted in the computer turning off. Wit the new setup it keeps running &
displays the message "It is now safe to turn off your computer". Can I change a
setting so it again turns off on shutdown?

My tool for AutoRun settings:

You can deactivate AutoRun for certain drive types
or for certain drive letters.

If the computer is installed as 'Standard PC' then
check out if in the device manager there is a deactivated
APM device and activate it. Too see it you have to set
under View 'Show hidden devices'.
Maybe the computer shuts down then or it reboots instead...
