I have two strange problems that I cannot seem to resolve. Both started
happening at the same time, so I think they may be related.
1. My desktop wallpaper is no longer visiable, and I am unable to select or
change the wallpaper when I go to Display Properties, Desktop Tab. The
Background selection window is greyed out, preventing me from changing it. I
am able to select the Color and change it. If I do an expand of the taskbar,
and then collapse it again, my wallpaper is visible for a moment while the
solid color overlay re-sizes.
2. My microphone seems to be in something like "monitor" mode, because it is
constantly on and everything that is said is repeated through the speakers. I
have tried finding some way to reset this in the sound settings, but have not
found anything that works.
I have all the latest updates from Microsoft, Microsoft Windows Defender and
also have Norton System Works with Norton Internet Security. All are up to
date and a full system scan shows no viruses.
Has anyone seen this type of problem before?
