two or more web pages displayed simultaneously?

If I have one website up a running, then by using a link button or a desktop
shortcut button to try to get other web pages up simultaneously, the other
pages close. It seems that by using shortcuts or links I can only view one
website at a time. I can open several different pages by using the main IE
launching button but then I have to go to favorites, find the pages I would
like to be displayed.

I'm thinking there must be a configuration/options set up or something other
thing I'm not understanding which would allow multiple pages to be
displayed simply by using link button and/or desktop shortcuts access??

Yahoo Companion has been known to cause this.
Remove if you have it installed. It's a spyware.
