two network connections?

Marty

Why is it that under Network Connections it shows both "Internet
Connection" and "Local Area Connection" as connected?

If I'm connected through the LAN then I shouldn't need to have Internet
Connection right?

This is on a home network connected by a DSL Router/Modem and switch.

Any ideas why I have both connections showing and recommendations please?

Cheers!

Marty,

The item "Internet Connection" is most likely a NAT router using UPnP. Having
that item displayed lets you access the router thru a UPnP interface, and make
appropriate changes. Assuming that you make configuration changes thru the web
interface in the router, you can just ignore "Internet Connection".
