Can someone tell me how to get two hard drives to work??? I want to
install a 80gb and a 20 gb on the same computer, I want to then transfer the
OS and the info and files from the 20 gab to the 80gb, then format the 20gb
and remove it. Then reinstall the 20gb on another system/ Does anyone know
how to do this. I want all the info on the 20gb to be placed on the 80gb.
The OS is XP pro. The drives are ATA or something like that. The 80gb is new
nothing on it.

What manufacture made the drives? This may make a difference in the
jumpers.

Anyway, the process is to

Install the 80 GB as a slave and the 20 GB as a master. Jumper (the
little connectors on the back of the drive) according to the mfg's
instructions on the drive or on the quick start sheet. (Don't use the
instructions for the Macintosh.)

You possibly could use the software that comes with the drives, but
Norton Ghost 2003 is easy, and that's what I've been successful with. In
Norton Ghost 2003, use Ghost Advanced > Clone. Clone the OS partition of
the 20 to the 80.

(If you can't get a copy of Ghost 2003, there are alternatives.)

Don't allow the computer to autoreboot.

Disconnect the ATA cable the 20 GB.

Reboot with only the 80 installed, jumpered as a master. Make sure
Windows starts and runs properly.

Install the 20 as a slave.

Format the 20 then take it out.
