Yes, you need to purchase a new license for each installation
on a separate drive or partition.
Please read your End-User License Agreement by going
to Start > Run and type: WINVER , and hit enter. Then
click on "End-User License Agreement".
From the Windows XP EULA:

display and run one copy of the Software on a single

| If my PC has two disks, and I install Win XP Pro on each, but only one can
| be booted at any given time (unlike Virtual PC, where one can toggle between
| images which can be running concurrently), do I need to buy two copies of
| XP?
| Thanks
