Hi

Is there away for two people to use windows xp home sp1
but have two different e-mail clients set up as their
defaults? I ask because person a likes outlook express
person b likes outlook. Person a comes along and changes
default to outlook express, person b logs in and their
default mail client is now OE. Any help would be great

Thanks

Hi Mike,

I worked on this for awhile, and the answer is a resounding "no".

I have to say that given that the latest version of Windows seems to be
SPECIFICALLY designed to enable different users to customise windows to
their own tastes, that this function is something that has been entirely
missed by the MS marketing dept.It would seem to be something that would be
a) quite easy to do (I'm no programer!) and b) quite a lot of people would
like it!

Hi Gordon,

The problem is that it is a global system setting, not one that is
user-defined. Not much that can be done about that, unless you were to allow
customization of all system preferences - can you imagine the nightmare that
would be? Essentially, it would be a separate system install for each user.
