I was contracted to work on a client's site where they have ws2k and
exchange server 2000.
The initial server was hit by a virus and so we setup a new server to cut
on time.

I installed a new copy of Windows 2000 advanced server and exchange server
2000, after setting up Active Directory.
The server name, domain name, and all the users from the old active
directory were setup on the new machine and all worked ok.

After a week, one of the staff, after cleaning it of the virus brought it
back online, of course, with a new ip address.
I went back and asked this computer to be removed from the network until
we have disabled server services.

Now what is happening is that, when a client tries to login, they get an
error message:

The system could not log you on. Make sure your user name and domain are
correct, then type your password again.
Letters in passwords must be typed using the correct case. Make sure that
Caps Lock is not accidentally on.

When put back on the network the users where able to log on with
parameters from the "old" active directory.

How can I make the clients be authenticated by the "new" active directory.
