i got a heatsink, which has come with two fans, the problem as you might
guess, is that all the connectors have now been used and there only one for
the cpu fan, is there any y-splitter connector so i can put the two working
together?

You mean to connect to the motherboard 3pin connector? No, you can't do
that. Connect one to the motherboard and get a 4pin to 3pin adapter and
connect it to the PSU cable using the adapter. Surely you have a free
connector on the PSU cable. You can use splitters on the PSU cable too.

Buy an adapter, they cost 2 dollars:

If you want to do a bit more, then here's one that can take three (no
speed regulation with this, obviously, but I don't use it anyway):

You shouldn't need to order the first item (and pay the shipping), most
PC and electronical components stores should have them.

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:
