Two column document with text on only 1 side

How can I make a document with two columns with text in only one column,
going from page to page instead of the newspaper style? Thanks!

You would be better off inserting a two-column table (click on
Table | Insert | Table) instead of using a two-column page layout
(Format | Columns). You can turn off the table borders in Format
| Borders and Shading. Word isn't very good at coping with
single table rows that span many pages, so it would be a good
idea to start a new paragraph in a new table row.
