TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility v2.34A

Greetings,
I just noticed the latest & greatest TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan
Utility v2.34A on Epson's web site available for download.

I am still using v1.25A (with an EPSON Perfection 3200 Photo) and I was
wondering before attempting to upgrade my system to the new v2.34A -
What are the improvements/enhancements that this new version (2.34A)
will give me over the one that I have (1.25A)?

I tried to find this information on Epson's web site, but I dis not
succeed.
Any tip or help or URL would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Daniel

Daniel,

It may be the latest, but don't count on it being the greatest. I pointed
out a problem with the current version and the response I got from their
support group was "go back to version 1.0, it will work just as well and the
problem doesn't exist in that version". That kind of response doesn't make
me want to rush out and download v2.34A!

I don't think there is anywhere you can easily find this information. I
seriously doubt the script reading drones at Epson technical support can
tell you. FWIW, I have run 2.34A with my 3200 and 4870 without any
problems.

Funny - I came across this posting just as I was looking for an answer
to the same question. I am not surprised that the 2.34A driver works,
but is EPSON's support really that bad that no one can find any
reference to the changes between this version and the previous one(s)?

Except for one bug in my current driver that has to do with the unsharp
filter everything works fine with my 1.00A driver but I would love to
upgrade if there is a nice new feature or enhancement in the new
version (2.x vs 1.x may suggest that, but what is it?).

Doug, did you upgrade yours to v2.34A or have you worked with v2.34A
right from the start? If the former, could you describe please any
differences you noticed?

Mucho Gracias!

I upgraded through the various releases along the way. I cannot remember
that there were any new features added for the 3200. I believe it just
involved tweaking/correcting problems in the background. If you have a
4870, I would definitely give the latest releases a try because I have a
strong suspicion that they were still tweaking the ICE function.
