TV Wonder, Audigy & MMC 8.8

Help!

I've got the video working but I'm having trouble with the sound - in the
Initialization Wizard I've set the sound to 'What U Hear' and then Line In.
When I launch the TV, I get sound for a moment and then it is muted. To get
sound I then have to un-mute Line In through the Audigy drivers. I then get
sound, but with an echo effect. If I press the mute button in the TV
application, the echo effect disappears, but the sound is slightly out of
sync with the picture - speech doesn't quite match lip movements, for
example.

Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong?

Many thanks,

Justin B.

I have an AIW 9800 myself, but try disabling "Best Video Quality".

I'm having similar problems, except my TV-Wonder is connected internally to
the Auxiliary on the Audigy, so from What U Hear I choose Auxiliary. When
it starts in mutes the Auxiliary in the mixer. I then just un-mute it and
it works...for a while. Occasionally it will lock up bad enough to require
a reboot. I can't close the TV component of MMC 8 (can't even shut the task
down) and the sound keeps playing. A restart of the entire computer is
required.

I have a feeling there may be a problem with the Audigy drivers not getting
along with the ATI software.

there are new audigy drivers out in the last few weeks/month'
ATI suggests at least version 250 of audigy drivers to co-exist with ATI

Big problems here as well. I bought a TV Wonder Pro and I cannot record
with MMC 8.8
without the audio echoing. The TV appllication also mutes the inputs every
time I launch it.
Furthermore, if I try running the initialization wizard again, it crashes at
the audio selection.

I have put my TV Wonder back in and gone back to MMC 7.9. I've also send a
few emails
to ATI who have been replying, but they don't admit there is a problem with
the MMC sofrware.

I don't think you should be using "What You Hear". That may have something
to do with the echo you get. With the same configuration, I used the
"Aux/Line In/Mic", then Line In (aux actually because I finally switched to
the internal connector so I could still record from the radio on external
Line in) and would only get the echo when recording. To fix the echo I
would turn on "Record Without Monitoring". Unfortunately, that setting
wouldn't stick and needs to be reset every time I record. In fact with the
8.8MMC I was never able to do scheduled record with sound whether using Best
Video Quality or not. I had to revert back to the 8.2 release to do capture
and then it would only work with BVQ turned off. As soon as I would turn on
BVQ the sound would quit. This whole issue has me raging because we have
the largest video card company and the largest sound card company and they
refuse to play nice together. I think my next system will use other
companies because we all know that #2 has to try harder.

This had been a problem with me since buying the TV Wonder Pro. Finally, I
decided to use the onboard sound for the TV Blunder only and it works like a
charm. The best part is that I can still use "Best Video Quality". At
first I plugged in some cheap $5 speakers to listen to the TV but for some
reason the sound came through perfectly from my 5.1 system. Awesome! If
you don't have OB sound then revert to the 8.2 release and leave BVQ off.

System:
ECS K7S5A Pro w/OB Sound, Lan
AMD XP2200+
512 DDR PC3200
ATI 9500 Pro
ATI TV Blunder Pro
Sound Blaster Notigy
