All-in-Wonder doesn't work with Creative Audigy

I just installed the newly bought Creative Audigy 2 ZS on my PC that
has a ATI All-in-Wonder 7500. The ATI audio output is supposed to go
into the LINE-IN of the sound card. But then I found I could not
control the sound (Mute or Volume control) on the ATI MMC panel (TV,
file player, etc..) no matter how I changed the order of the driver/app
installations. The hassle is now I can't use the ATI remote control
with sound. I didn't have such problem when I was using on board sound.

Any help is appreciated!

I bought the All-in-wonder 7500 in Oct, 2003, and used the installation
disc coming with the box. The MMC a package of individual apps like TV,
file player, remote....I didn't see the version info from the apps
before (I haven't checked it out thoroughly). Would you please tell me
where to get the version info?

By the way, after I tried everything solely with Creative SB and ATI,
I enabled both the Creative SB and the SoundMAX (my on board sound),
then connected the ATI audio output to the on-board sound card LINE-IN,
and from the on-board LINE-OUT to the Creative SB LINE-IN. That way I
could control the sound from the ATI MMC TV Player. The problem is,
every time I turned off the MMC TV, it didn't remember my audio-input
config (which is SoundMAX Line-In), and I had to reconfig it using the
wizard in the MMC TV.

It seems the ATI MMC just could not found the way to control the
Creative SB, but controls the on-board sound without problem.

Thanks a lot!

I just opened the ATI MMC launchpad and it is version 7.5. Seems ATI is
tough they stop supporting this 2 years old AIW 7500, I never bothered
to try understanding what they say on the website and downloading the
update which may not for this model. Thanks.

You are having device and driver conflicts.

First, If you just bought the Creative Audigy 2 ZS and have it installed in
your computer. Disable the On-Board Audio in your system BIOS.

Second, Download of MMC 9.02 on the ATI website, your ATI All-In-Wonder 7500
video card will only install "MMC 9.02"

This will be somewhat hard to find on the ATI website site, but it's there
under >Windows XP>RADEON>RADEON Previous Windows XP Drivers and Software
versions prior to CATALYST 5.1 / Multimedia Center 9.03

Scroll down until you find ATI Multimedia Center 9.02 MMC 9.02 Release
Notes

Once there **READ** the NOTES about MMC 9.02 on how to uninstall and install
ALL the other software plus the MMC 9.02 suite.

Good Luck!

Finally I got things working the way I wanted after doing the
necessary. There is a nuisance after upgrading to MMC 9.02, it doesn't
come with the ATI DVD player. By the ATI doc, the latest DVD version I
can get is 7.6 for AIW 7500. But the ATI DVD 7.6 is conflicting with
MMC 9.02, I couldn't keep them in the same machine by whatever order to
install them. Now I can just give up the ATI DVD.

The ATI DVD PLAYER 7.6 will not work with MMC 9.02. You must download the
DVD DECODER for MMC 9.02 Suite on the ATI website. You **MUST** have the
newer Installation CD to activated the ATI DVD PLAYER.

Buy the CD from ATI

As I told you before, you must **READ** ALL INFORMATION BEFORE YOU PROCEED.

You need some type DVD player installed or you won't have an MPG2 codec. Not
an option for most. AFAIK It doesn't have to be ATI, though.

While I'm not a fan of their respective programmers, I've had zero
problems using a AIW 9800 Pro with a Audigy 2 ZS sound card. So, if you
have/had problems with this combination, it's likely due to the way you
installed/maintain your system or maybe I'm just luckier then you. :)
