The basic ATI card runs about 50.00 & works well. With any of the tv tuner
cards, youre best bet is to install the drivers only for the card (from cd),as
for software, none can match windows media encoder 9 series,+ get the
utilities.
The WMCAP works great for simply "viewing" whats on,the encoder does the
rest....Also,all of these type of cards work ok,however youre CPU,ram,& video
card make or break it...

Go to newegg.com and look them up. Almost anything bought is rated along
with user reviews. Important is the software that comes with the card.

My $20 card works as good or better than an expensive card but the software
is crap. So now I need a good software package that costs $80 or more (last
I looked) and I could have had the best combined package of card and that
for $75.

I think they all come with a threaded notch you screw your cable cord onto.
I like to watch TV while passing idle time in my office and I have cable
Internet. They came out and installed a duplex connection and now I need to
unscrew the cable cord from the TV when I want to record TV on the PC.

I may be wrong but I think each wall outlet can accomodate 4 cable devices
without much or any loss of power.

It's better to future-proof yourself and have an extra cable cord or two
laying around useless than to need one and have to pay for the extra service
call again and taking pot luck that the "service technician" who comes out
on your call didn't drop out of school to learn a trade.

My Dell Dimension 8400 has Pentium 4 with HT, 3.0 ghz, 80gb hard drive, 1 gb
of ram memory and 128 mb ATI X800 video card. I believe TV Tuner card won't
hurt my system.....
