I removed an AIMS lab card from my old PC (Win98), installed it in new PC
(WinXP) it will not run. I have chased around all sorts of sites for updates
and drivers and am now in a tangle. TV still does not work and now I can't
get sound either, worse still for some reason my system refuses to restore to
any previous setup.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Obvious question: Does Windows recognise that the card is installed? So is
it listed if you go from Computer Management > Device Manager?

Assuming it does, are you sure you are using the right device driver for it?
That's the most likely problem. I think AIMs labs went bust, so its unlikely
that you will find an xp driver but your best hope might be to spend an hour
or two with google visiting every site it throws up for AIMS lab tv card xp
driver. Failing that, you might need to go out and buy a new tv card.

I can't help on the problem of the system refusing to restore. Hopefully
someone else will be able to post some advice on that.

I hope you get it working.

I eventually got tmy system restored to an earlioer saved setup.
Unfortunately not a clean one but at least everything else but the TV card
worked. I have tried loads of Drivers from many sites but I seem to get into
more trouble than I can handle. I think I will take your advice ie. clean it
up and get a new TV card.
Thanks for your efforts anyway
