aman

hi there,

i have a notebook [optima- windows xp professional
upgraded from windows 98SE]. the problem i have is
regarding the tv out; which is located in the notebook.
accordingly i have seen some notebooks can be connected
to tv for playing games etc. using the S-VIDEO socket. i
tries using that socket [S-VIDEO to S-VIDEO]. but i do
not see anything in the tv. is there any software i need
to download for viewing the contents on the tv.

my graphics card is [S3 GRAPHICS INC. SAVAGE MX]. i got
two options in the display stting tab

1. DIGITAL FLAT PANEL [1024*728] S3 GRAPHICS INC. SAVAGE
MX.
2. DEFAULT MONITOR ON S3 GRAPHICS INC. SAVAGE MX.

THE SCREEN RESOLUTION ON FLAT PANEL 1024*768 WITH HIGHEST
32 BIT.

THANKS.

You cannot use the tv out function with the generic drivers that XP
installs. You should go to Dell's website (www.dell.com) and download and
install updated drivers for your notebook for your particular graphics card.
