Tv card problem under Win XP

Hi,
I have a big problem under my win xp and tv card.
I had a TV card from typhoon, after installed it worked perfectly.
Next, I don't remember what I do, what drivers I installed and the card
stop to working.
In the software tv preview before I see the tv program or svhs,composite
video input, now I see only a black screen but if I see the tv, the
screen still black but audio is present!
Next I tried to change tv card, I mounted a KWORLD 878 tv card,
installed drivers but...the problem still the same!
So I understand a thing, should be a problem of the video card driver
(but it never changed from the setup of operating system) or a
DirectX9.0c problem.
Whant can I do to solve this problem?
How to remove directx, or downgrading it?

The BT878 can DMA bus master data right into the video card.
I believe this uses an "overlay" feature in the video card.
So the keyword I would search for is "overlay" and how it can be
broken.

You cannot (easily) remove DirectX. It upgrades but does not
downgrade.

You might take a spare hard drive, and make a clean install
on it. You can experiment with driver versions on the spare
disk, and see what combinations will work. It could be a
third, unrelated program, which has changed things, and not
DirectX or the TV card software.
